I like like some stuff and I dislike other stuff. This is where I discuss said stuff!
Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
In which: Sherlock Holmes, detective extraordinary, stars in a romantic comedy where he tries to come to terms with the love of his life, Watson, going off and marrying a woman. Oh, and some stuff happens with some bad guys also.
Opinion: If you turn your brain off and just enjoy well choreographed stunts and fight scenes, quipping heroes and some pretty successful physical comedy it’s a solid 6/10.
In which: We travel back to the 80’s, have imaginary friends, and justify the amount of cameras present by making a main character a wedding videographer. Then we stick to the formula of the previous movies. Oh, and there’s a oscillating fan-camera.
Opinion: It’s totally a one-trick pony of a movie franchise but, like the cat chasing the laser pointer dot for hours on end, I still fall for it every single time. Documentary style horror just scares me y’all, and I had a good time watching this #kanyeshrug 6/10.
Mini-review: The Skin I Live In
In which: A brilliant surgeon is quite deranged, a woman in a bodysuit does yoga and a man dressed as a tiger makes you wish human beings didn’t have tongues.
Opinion: You know when you watch a movie and you can’t really figure out where it’s heading, so you start speculating more and more outside of the box and then you’re inevitably disappointed by how mundane the end actually is? Yeah, that is not an issue here. This movie delivers like whoa in that department, and still manages to make perfect sense and actually be quite moving. 9/10
Mini-review: The Woman
In which: All female characters have truly horrific shit happen to them, you will want to make all males in the world walk on lego pieces to atone for the sins of these fictional representations of their gender. Sorry dudes.
Opinion: Solid horror flick, interesting idea, very uncomfortable watch, 7/10
In which: A man robs a bank, severely injures his foot, and attempts to avoid the law by attending a very interesting dinner party. The dinner party is probably his poorest decision that day.
Opinion: It’s a weird little thriller, not without flaws, but it really grew on me. David Hyde-Pierce is the perfect blend of manic and calm that keeps you unnerved, and the plot felt genuinely unpredictable. 7/10

Underrated movies (…according to me): My Little Eye
Offcial Summary: In this smart thriller, five young people apply to live in an isolated house together for six months while their every move is filmed by numerous cameras. Each has their own reason for wanting to be there - fame, money, adventure. The prize - $1 Million. They rules - if one person leaves, everyone loses. It becomes the ultimate morality test.
Why it’s underrated: When reality TV was still pretty newish this little horror gem premiered, and was unfairly dismissed, because it seemed like it was just trying to cash in on a current cultural phenomenon. It’s far from a perfect movie but it does have a voyeuristic creepiness and a fairly successful, if unsubtle, commentary on “Big Brother” (and similar shows) as well as the type of people who seek that kind of fame.
